TESTIMONIALS

Before my coaching sessions with Dr. Patrick I felt basically lost in the weeds with my personal goals. That is to say, I had little motivation and was not particularly positive about my self image or the future. After the first meeting with Dr. Patrick I found that I was not that far off, and that I just needed to apply some basic principles back into my personal life on a daily basis. After a few short meetings I had hope again.

I was achieving small goals and feeling accomplished, it was a snowball effect from there. I can say that in the end I feel like I’m finally out of the weeds and feeling positive once again about myself and my future. I am on track to reclaiming what I once had and coming back stronger and better than ever.

The secret is simply in Dr. Patrick's approach; he has a super-power, a unique way of helping me understand myself, better than I could ever have done on my own. I'm forever grateful for the time we spent on me! I would absolutely recommend this process to anyone looking for better results in life! Thank you, Dr. P.

Participating in the Nurse Coach sessions with Patrick came at a pivotal time in my life. After acknowledging the deep impact that grieving through years due to so many personal losses and witnessing the aging of my mother, I made the decision to relocate to Florida to be closer to family—a decision deeply rooted in healing, responsibility, and legacy.

Through the coaching process, I found space to reflect, interiorize, and realign with my values. It allowed me to reconnect with parts of myself I had placed on hold while navigating life’s demands. Setbacks I have experienced lately related to my workplace found me in a turbulent and somewhat dark place. Each and every session offered more than support—they offered clarity and direction. I was reminded that growth is not something we do alone; it is cultivated through connection, reflection, and the willingness to evolve.

I also came to recognize the importance of my partner’s presence and support. Our relationship deepened throughout this process, and the insights I gained during coaching helped me show up more intentionally—not only for my loved ones but for myself.

Working with Patrick affirmed the power of holistic coaching in nursing. It helped me center my purpose, embrace vulnerability, and reclaim balance in a time of transition. I carry these lessons forward—personally and professionally.

With gratitude.

I had the opportunity to work with Dr. Patrick LaRose while he was completing his clinical hours for a Nurse Coach program. Initially, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was genuinely delighted by the experience and the outcomes of our coaching sessions.

Patrick clearly set expectations for each session and always allowed questions or concerns. We met four times, two sessions lasting 1½ hours and two one-hour sessions. I came to the first meeting with a specific concern: navigating a life stage change and exploring future retirement strategies.

As our conversations progressed, we explored current work and job exit strategies, as well as the potential loss of relationships I had developed in my professional setting. Patrick also thoughtfully incorporated discussions around work-life balance, exercise, and diet, areas impacted by my current situation and ones I deeply appreciated being reminded of.

As a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and existential psychotherapist, I’m well-versed in concepts like life stage transitions, loss, death, and anticipatory grief. However, I had never personally experienced these challenges in such a profound way. Having someone so empathetic to talk with, who offered thoughtful, practical approaches to navigating these difficult topics was incredibly helpful.

By the end of our coaching sessions, I told Patrick that his nurse coaching had provided me with more relief and practical tools to move forward than years of therapy had. I understand the difference between coaching and therapy, and I value what each brings. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have experienced this mode of care firsthand.

I will, absolutely, refer patients with coaching needs to a nurse coach in the future, hopefully to Patrick himself 😊
